Normally that would depend on what type of people you are but lately the most popular wedding theme has been with the butterfly. It is because it is not only for women, the husbands have to agree as well. If it is decided that you are going to have a butterfly wedding theme, then it is suggested that you start working!

It is such a popular choice because it seems to bring peace and joy to weddings, butterflies are peaceful insects and do not harm people in any way. There is so much you can do with a butterfly themed wedding; here are just a few ideas.

First of all your dress should be a lively color with a few appliqué butterflies sewn onto it. If you are going to wear a headpiece it must be made from fabric, sew on matching butterflies that are a little smaller than the ones on your dress. If you do not want that you could use a butterfly tiara instead. If the bridesmaids are wearing the same dress that you are then sew the butterflies in the same places that yours are sewn. The best place to sew them would be along the hem, on the sleeve or by the neckline. It should all match though, the position, color and size. If that is not possible you could dye the appliqués so that they do match the dresses. 

You could also make your own garter. It is a simple procedure, all you do is sew some elastic through the middle length of the lace and there you have a homemade garter! If you do not have the time for that you could just sew a butterfly onto an existing garter.  

There are lots of butterfly accessories like a monarch box, candle holders, key rings, cell phone kit bag and much more. It would be nice if you had a few candles burning in those butterfly candle holders and place it on a table, maybe the gift table. That could enhance the butterfly atmosphere a bit more.

The invitations and thank you cards would look wonderful if they were also part of the butterfly wedding theme. There are many ways of going about this bit it would depend on how much time you have before the wedding takes place. If you have ample time, then you should consider handmade cards and invitations. People always appreciate things a lot more if they know that a lot of time and effort went into making them. You will be surprised at what you will find at a craft market, they sell all kinds of things, and you are almost guaranteed to find all the materials you need to make your cards.

Having a butterfly wedding theme means that everything should be associated with butterflies and their lives. So why not use flowers that attract butterflies as your bouquet? That will look absolutely stunning and may even attract a few real butterflies to flutter around your ceremony! Some of the flowers that butterflies are attracted to are honeysuckles, asters, lilacs and many more. They are beautiful flowers as well and would suit the occasion!

The tables for the guests should be decorated with butterfly candles and butterfly confetti, the colors of those do not really matter as they are small. You could even have baskets filled with planted wildflowers, if you cannot get your hands on those then artificial ones will do – just don’t expect any butterflies to be hovering around them. You could attach your guests name cards to the baskets so that they know where they should be seated. You could draw a butterfly and write the persons name inside or you could get something similar made for you.

You may decorate the room with butterflies if you don’t think you have already gone overboard, it is a butterfly theme wedding you know! You could print a few fairly big color pictures of pretty butterflies and stick them onto the walls. If the room is not too big you could cover the floor with a layer of flowers or just petals. Petals would probably be the better option. You could also buy big plastic butterflies that you could hang from the ceiling, but make a few of them hang a bit low and one big one just above where the bride and groom will exchange their vows.

The butterfly wedding theme proves to be successful time and time again. It is truly a beautiful way to celebrate the special day with your loved one.
