You were always told as a child that you lived in fairyland or were away with the fairies due to your lack of concentration, but the truth is you have always loved fairy stories like Cinderella and so on. Well, now you have taken the major step of deciding to get married and you naturally want a fairytale wedding so you can now go along with the Cinderella wedding theme. All you have to do now, is put your dreams into reality.

Your invitations should be on white card with gold writing. You could have a crown at the top because it is your prince’s royal command that your guests attend the wedding.

First you have to find the ideal spot for the service. Once this is done, you now turn to decorating it on the day. You could use lots of fairy wing gossamer bows, sprinkled with fairy dust (glitter). Flowers could be forget- me- not, gyp, and even snowdrops season permitting. You could have silver stars dotted amongst the flowers as well.

The dress you wear has got to be full and gives the impression you are gliding along, with a long train and lots of crystals, making it look like a thousand tiny stars. Your veil can be held in place by a crown of crystals that will add to the dazzling effect. The bridesmaids can wear simple dresses but they too must have a little glitter either on the dress or in the headdresses they wear. 

Your prince should look formal or could even hire a prince’s costume to wear for the day. Even the bride and grooms mothers can be included in the theme. One could be the fairy godmother the other the wicked stepmother and it would be a great deal of fun to involve them in this way and make the day as special for them as it is for you. The fathers could be dressed as coachmen so that they do not feel left out.

Flowers should be chosen because of their delicate appearance, and preferably be perfumed if at all possible. The colour should compliment the bridesmaid’s dresses.

You could try to buy shoes that resemble the glass slipper of your favourite story. You will need a coach and horses to take you to the place you have chosen to become one with your prince and then after to take you both to the celebrations.

The wedding reception venue should be chosen with your theme in mind, either hire a ballroom if you can, or maybe hire a stately home and use their ballroom if your finances will allow. If that is out of reach, choose a venue where you can create the look as much as is possible even if you have to ask friends and family to help you achieve your hearts desire.

Wedding favors have to be something special, and you could give favor boxes with small crystal gifts for the ladies, and maybe tie pins for the gents with a crystal set in it. Or maybe some heart shaped chocolates in gossamer bags tied with silver and red ribbons

Once you have found the venue decide how to make it a fairytale event, the little bridesmaids could be dressed as fairies and take baskets of dragees round for your guests.

The tables could be covered with green clothes to resemble the grass and you could make some toad stalls out of cardboard to give the fairy meadow look. Balloons should be white or clear to resemble the dew. 

The cake can be centre of the room under an archway of balloons and the cake could be set up in a step design to represent the walk to both your groom and the pathway to your joint future. The cake topper again could be a glass slipper on a silk pillow that your prince used to find you. Or you could have a heart shaped cake that signifies the love you share between you and as you cut the cake you are giving a tiny bit of love to each and every guest. 

The tables could also be scattered with heart to show the love your prince and you share. There should be some old brooms on the walls to remind you of how you were treated as a servant. Your friends and family could continue the theme by changing into ball gowns and dinner suites for the reception. And, of course you need a band to be playing in the corner for you and your guests to dance the night away, at least this time you will not have to leave the ball before the clock strikes twelve.

At the end of the ball your carriage will arrive pulled by six white horses and it will carry you and your prince away to start your new fairytale life with a happy ending.
