If you have decided to have a color theme wedding, what better theme than a rainbow theme. Your imagination is the only boundary. A few years ago this was a frequent choice of new brides but like everything else different themes soon replaced it. However, it is such a lovely theme it is worth thinking about. There are two ways to do it, you either decide on a set colour and then theme everything into different shades of that colour. The other way is to go for a theme that utilises as many colors as possible, in all shades making a veritable rainbow.

You have chosen the rainbow wedding and want to make a real splash. There are many different ways that you can do this, firstly the invitations could be multi colored with a small rainbow in the corner. The church could have different colored flowers at the alter as well as different colored flowers attached to the ends of the pews. The smallest bridesmaids could sprinkle different colored flower petals, and each bridesmaid should be dressed in different colors. The headdresses could be the contrasting shades of the individual dresses, for instance if one was in lemon the dress should be light lemon and the headdress a deeper shade and so on. The bride could carry a mixed bouquet of flowers to contrast with her bridesmaids, and perhaps have colored flowers in her hair, or a multi colored headdress to match the theme. The groom could be included in the theme by wearing a nice colored shirt to match a bridesmaid. And so could the best man. Buttonholes can also be multi colored, which would keep the color theme going.

For the wedding reception it could be a sea of different colors. Each table should have a different color cloth, and small vases of flowers could match each one. Balloons should be multi colored as well, and even the cake can continue the theme by each tier being piped with a different color icing. The cake topper could be the bride and groom stood under the arch of a beautiful rainbow. Multi colored confetti could decorate all the tables and a beautiful multi color swag around the head table. And, to add to this you could have multi colored lights of a disco and you would truly have a rainbow reception.

The bridal car could have multi colored silk flowers and bows decorating it. All the guests could have different colored ribbons for their cars. And, as wedding favours why not give the men different colored ties and the women colored scarves. Food should be easy to decide on, just make sure you tell the caterers that your theme is a color them wedding and they will make sure they incorporate as many colors as possible for you.

If you find multi colors too much for your taste then drop it down to a themed color like pinks or blues or even lilacs and theme it that way. Bridesmaids could be different shades of the chosen color, as could the flowers and headdresses. The reception could be given the same treatment color but a rainbow of shades that match.

The church could have one shade of flowers, another of ribbons, and so on. Another way would be to choose two toning colors like orange and lemon, pink and blue or pink and purple, or even burgundy and cream. Then arrange everything around your chosen colors. There are a many variations that you can choose from that would all come under the heading of a colored wedding theme. Some more vivid than other, but everyone has their own favorite colors, so why not try the bride and grooms and then mix them up into your colored themed wedding. Invitations can be handmade to lower your expense and therefore can be any shape size or color that you want.

The main thing that you should remember is that it is your day, and you have the right to make it what you want, you have probably spent many years dreaming what this day would be like and you most definately at some point will have worked out exactly what the theme would be. Do not allow other peoples taste to interfere with your plans. It is your special day so have it the way you want, where you want and in the color theme that you want. Remembering that simple rule will in turn give you a day that you can truly enjoy and that will come back into your memory for a great many years to come.

And from the wedding favors you choose to give to your guests they too can have a great day that they will think about for a long time to come. Even the simplest wedding invitation will evoke special memories so choose carefully; you are building happy memories for all concerned.
