Elegant Wedding- Tradition at its Finest

Your date is picked and you are about to embark on the most important arrangements of your life so far, the most elegant wedding, the kind all little girls dream of, being a princess for a day. There is so much to do that you wonder if you will ever be ready in time. If you work slowly through the arrangements you will, and can achieve the wedding of your dreams. So, first we need invitations, have you decided on the colour scheme? Traditional colours are black white, rose, and blush. So why not have simple rose coloured cards with maybe a wedding parasol in one corner, and a trailing bouquet in the opposite corner, make the words italic which always looks romantic and traditional. Have a thin gold trim all round the edges, and you have a really beautiful classic elegant design to compliment the wonderful day you are planning.

The wedding dress could be a full-skirted gown covered in hand sewn crystals, white of course. Or perhaps you would rather have a fishtail gown for the dramatic elegant look. Satin is a classic fabric, and chandelier earrings are a must. Of course you can finish your look with a beautiful gem encrusted tiara you will look out of this world. Your groom should compliment your look with a traditional black or white tie the classic style will blend beautifully. Groomsmen should also wear black tie and simple plain suits.

Your flowers should keep the theme going, why not give the bridesmaids simple dusky rose bouquets and you have an elegant trailing white lily with gypsophilia mixed in trailing right down almost to the floor. It will certainly be classic and very elegant. Your bridesmaids could be dressed in deep rose dresses with a rose headdress and trailing ribbons. So now the clothes are sorted and so too the invitations, and flowers.

Next come the church arrangements. You want to try and pick a nice old church in a little village if you can traditional and beautiful, you must have the bell ringers, and a traditional photographer would be nice. The pews could be trimmed with ivory ribbon and white rose posy’s to keep your theme going.

Next comes the reception, and here you can really let your creative flair go. Try to get an old ballroom or a nice room in a country hotel that has beautiful crystal chandeliers

For the tables cover them with dusty pink and cream table covers a traditional small vase of flowers these could be filled with roses and peonies with maybe a little lavender thrown in. This will not only look great but will fill the room with a perfume that will add to the feel of your special day. You could do traditional music with a nice band playing, the wedding cake would look stunning maybe four tiers on a silver stand, with the usual decorations bells in silver with white doves, gold wedding rings and as a cake topper how about a bride and groom locked in a loving embrace, standing under a flower decked pagoda, or a vase filled with traditional flower like those on your guests tables. The main table should have a beautiful swag of flowers and lace and ribbons.

For wedding favours you could give the ladies small scented pomanders, or dried flowers in little baskets. For the men, you could think about cigars, or dinner suit boxes with a few sugared almonds in. You could give the ladies a lace-trimmed hanky with a few almonds tied in with thin ribbon.

You should have a couple of waltzes to keep everything in theme and this should take you to a beautiful end of your amazing elegant day. For the finishing touch you should arrive in a horse drawn carriage that is smothered in flowers and ribbons, and at the end of the day get back into your coach with your new husband and gallop away to your destiny.

There are so many ways that you can make and elegant theme, it could be a garden party wedding where you exchange your vows in a garland filled gazebo, and dance to the early hours under the stars with twinkling light all around and the band playing soft music in the background. Or you could go for a stately manor, where you have the wedding in a private chapel and the reception that would be a seated meal rather than a buffet. In a great oak lined dinning hall, after which you adjourn to the ballroom for the ball of the year.

Which ever you choose your day will be filled with special memories that will last a lifetime. Every girl is entitled to one special day and that day is her wedding day. And it should be everything you wish for and so much more. With careful planning that is exactly what you will achieve.
